More thrills and action than you can hold onto! Here’s your unique and exclusive chance to experience what it’s like to be a passenger on a road race sidecar. No comfortable passenger seats to be strapped into here!

You'll learn the importance of quick reactions and good positioning necessary to maintain stability on a race machine which has only three wheels.

The motorcycle experience of your life hosted by the members of Annandale Leichhardt Motorcycle Club.

Read a testimonial by a former participant.

Watch a video clip of a ‘kids show’ TV presenter who gave it a go.

Watch a video clip of Paul Woodhead, former multi world championship winner explaining the finer points of being a sidecar passenger.

Price for One Day Experience in 2008:
$100 per person.

Location:
Eastern Creek Kart Circuit

Vital Details:
Minimum age is 16 years. Practical maximum weight is around 100kg.

The Weather:
You are advised to telephone the operator on the morning of your ride to confirm that the activity is taking place.
The track is well drained and we normally expect to proceed regardless of weather conditions. However, in extreme conditions it is possible we may need to cancel for safety reasons.

Session Length:
This is a full day experience. Gates open at 8:30 am, and you should ensure that you arrive early ready to undertake instruction.
Once preliminary instruction has been completed, you'll walk onto the circuit in close company with an MNSW accredited coach to observe sidecars circulating with licensed demonstration riders on-board. Take in the techniques, observe how different techniques are necessary on the differing bikes.

Next the bikes will come to a halt on the track and the coach will demonstrate the techniques up close. You can't be sure which bike you'll be on through the day. But there's every chance you'll get to experience many of them. So make sure you pay attention to each type of bike that is present on the day.

Then line up to take your first hand experience. The coach will place you on the bike and again demonstrate the appropriate techniques. Then off you go for your first three or four lap experience.

On return to the pit area, take a breather and a drink before getting on the next machine for another three or four laps. The process will continue through to the lunch break, then restart again after lunch.

Activities will conclude at around 4.30pm … or earlier if you're too exhausted to continue.

Number of Participants:
You should expect to be among approx 50-60 participants. We ask for your patience as we work to allow everyone appropriate opportunity. Please remember that club members are there providing their bikes as volunteers.

Dress Code:
For safety purposes, you are advised to bring a helmet, full leathers, gloves and boots.
Some limited supplies of protective clothing are available from the host club. But to avoid disappointment, you should endeavour to bring your own wherever possible.

Spectators:
Spectators are welcome to attend and take in the action.

Special Needs:
Please contact the club (see contacts on brochure) to discuss individual requirements. We also encourage you to bring drinking water and a hat.
